We need a Pakistan that is more democratic long term to counter the appeal of radical ideologies in that country.

Well, okay. So that gives me a lot of insight as to how I might deal with them.

I think our overall posture towards Pakistan... is much broader.

It is, in my opinion, in our national interest to support the continuation of what has been a hugely successful international moratorium on testing.

I would suggest that many of the objections raised back in 1999 are less valid today.

I believe very strongly in the Congress, and certainly in the Senate, pursuing its separate co-equal branch of government status.

I think that the apprehension in this case may be misplaced.

I cannot say I am going to vote for any bill, because what if the bill does as much harm as it does good?

What happened to that bill, that wonderful bill that my Chairman voted for, that I voted for, that we all voted for? It disappeared down the black hole of partisanship.

We need to act now. It is a real threat, and it is dangerous.

The Zika virus has caused a rare disorder in adults in which the body attacks its own nervous system, causing paralysis.

There is no room for politics in this.

That progress should be recognized and commended at the same time that we are urging them to do other things.
