Good morning and welcome to what is our second subcommittee hearing reviewing the Department's fiscal year 2023 budget request.

It's good to be in the hearing room.

Certainly, we have been focused on the ammunition base and the products that go into that.

We are in a better position than they are?

So, this isn't an accident by any stretch of the imagination and that's what I'm trying to suggest here to my colleagues.

There's a distinction between a good contractor who does the right thing and might a mistake and what we're going to hear here in a few minutes.

I know what it's like to be cheated out of wages. Unfortunately, when I was young man, I was a victim.

We all should be focused on getting rid of the bad actors and making sure that everybody plays by the same rules.

I would be remiss in not thanking those who kept our planes flying, those who are building our planes during a pandemic.

buy in America has always been a motto that most of us adhere to.

It has been a rough couple of years when it has come to the pandemic, but the good news is I believe we are on the other side of it.

So could you give me some clarity on how this gets done in 15 years with the priorities that we are talking about.
