I think based on the information I have today, if all I had was the information on the day of the vote, I’d certainly vote for him again.

Thom Tillis is an American politician and businessman currently serving as the junior United States senator from North Carolina, a position he has held since January 6, 2015. A member of the Republican Party, Tillis has focused on issues such as tax reform, healthcare, and national security during his tenure in the Senate. He previously served as the Speaker of the North Carolina House of Representatives from 2011 to 2012, where he played a significant role in shaping state legislation.
I was so focused on Medicaid, I wasn’t looking for other reasons to be against the bill. But that would be another one.
What this bill does is sort of, kind of blow apart the systems that states have set up to establish their healthcare programs.
In Washington over the last few years, it’s become increasingly evident that leaders who are willing to embrace bipartisanship, compromise, and demonstrate independent thinking are becoming an endangered species.
Too many elected officials are motivated by pure raw politics who really don’t give a damn about the people they promised to represent on the campaign trail.
You have to remember, you volunteer for this job, and you can leave anytime you want.
The people in the White House advising the president … are not telling him that the effect of this bill is to break a promise.
I said to them, we’ll play hide-and-seek, and I’ll run around in different places on the Senate floor.
It is inescapable that this bill, in its current form, will betray the very promise that Donald J. Trump made in the Oval Office or in the Cabinet Room.
Between the state-directed payments and the cuts scheduled in this bill—there’s a reduction of state-directed payments.
