Mark Meadows
The Public Record
Mark Meadows is a former U.S. Representative for North Carolina's 11th congressional district, serving from 2013 to 2020. A member of the Republican Party, he was a prominent figure in the House Freedom Caucus, advocating for limited government and fiscal conservatism. During his tenure, he was known for his strong support of the Trump administration's policies and initiatives.
Meadows reportedly telling investigators that Trump was, quote, dishonest, when he claimed he won the election.
He also said that he had never seen any evidence of fraud that would have kept now President Joe Biden from the White House, and agrees with the assessment that this was the most secure election in U.S. history.
He told investigators that in the weeks following the 2020 election, he says he told Trump that these claims of widespread voter fraud were baseless.
Meadows said he believed the actions detailed on the Fulton County indictment were part of his official duties and were done at Donald Trump's behest.
He was on that call, where Trump called Georgia Secretary of State, Brad Raffensperger, and asked Raffensperger, to find the votes needed, for Trump to win the election, in Georgia.
I don't want people to know we lost, Mark. This is embarrassing. Figure it out. We need to figure it out. I don't want people to know that we lost.
This is a fight of good versus evil. Evil always looks like the victor until the king of kings triumphs. Do not grow weary in well-doing. The fight continues. I have staked my career on it, well, at least my time in D.C. on it.
