I have been visiting Federal employees, and you know what I constantly hear is that there is a double standard for the people at the top and the rank-and-file Federal workers.

I thank you for your commitment to the families.

I don't want--because originally we said we were going to have transfer done by January.

I want to thank all of you for your time, for your dedication to our military families.

So you have recommended, along with Ms. Hoehne, this phased-in approach.

I don't want us to do is to talk in generalities and negate all the positive stuff that we've been able to make.

Because, you know, this particular situation was news to the ranking member and I.

So your testimony here today is, if those families get you the needed information, you can make a determination within 10 days. Is that your testimony?

Your goal was 10 days. Now, your testimony earlier said that you did them in 10 days.

So what is a recertification? I'm ignorant. What are we talking about? Is it making sure that their child is still with them or----

So your testimony here today is we've got a 1,600-person backlog and that can be eliminated in 10 days?

I do thank you because I know the heart that it represents.

I thank my good friend, the ranking member, Mr. Connolly, for his kind words and really for working in such a hand-in-glove way.

I certainly recognize that progress and commend it and hope it will continue.

The person who appointed you, Ms. Napolitano, promised it to this Congress in 2013, December of 2013, that it would be here.

I am hopeful that the new legislature will be able to make greater strides in the months ahead.

Despite the Obama administration's missteps, the Egyptian people should know that they do have a friend in the United States.

Long-term stability will only come with the kind of prosperity, respect for human rights, and self-determination that allows all Egyptians to feel that they have a say in the future of their beloved country.

If there is one message, Madam Chairman, that I want to communicate to the Egyptian people today, it is that there are a number of us, not just on Capitol Hill but across the United States, who look forward to an ongoing personal…

One sign of goodwill that President Sisi could make immediately is pardoning the 43 pro-democracy NGO workers who were wrongly convicted in 2013 under Morsi.

So based on that 10 percent response rate and those survey results, what have you changed operationally?

I am committed, along with my ranking member, to make sure we change that.

I could not believe it, because normally, the inspectors general are not that scathing in their report.

I want to make sure it's quantifiable.
