If you are having discussions with them, how could that not be helping them develop the rule?

Let me tell you, what it smells like here is that you are not being truthful with this committee.
Ultimately ---- if someone is not complying with a subpoena, it is not the general counsel, it is not your staff, it is you because your name is on the subpoena.
If your testimony is--because on the January 29 meeting that he has talked about where you actually came in and talked about subpoena compliance with staff, actually you provided a few rolling document productions.
So your testimony is you meet with 100 percent of the people that ask? How do you do that with a staff of 45 people?
I just want to caution you: don't--listen, I know all my sheriffs by first name. I know my chiefs by first name. I love law enforcement.
So we had five Uzis that were missing for 10 years. We found them, and we waited 3 years to have the IG come in and look at it? Do you not see a problem with that?
It is time you get it back to this committee, and we are going to continue to bring you back until we get a report, okay?
We have reason to believe that the number of overstays, if you include all the categories, is closer to 3/4 of a million versus the 500,000 that has been indicated.

It sounds like we have created a jobs program for Iran that we are concerned about their business activity at the expense of the national security of all freedom-loving Americans.
Are we expecting another report? Because, as you and I agree, that is not complete.
The administration's disregard for the congressional intent is intolerable, especially when we look at the action being done to appease a country like Iran.
The best way to address it is to put companies that do the kind of, to use a tweeted-out word, imbecile pricing strategy, is to put you out of business.
This Republican from western North Carolina is going to work with Democrats from Michigan to make sure that not only you are held accountable but the State is held accountable
So, Mr. Chairman, you know that you have my full support, and I will continue to work with you as you continue to illuminate this particular situation.
So when are you going to overcome these obstacles? Because the chairman pointed out from a standpoint of the results, as Winston Churchill would say, is we haven't seen a whole lot of them, so the point of your office is what?
No matter how beautiful the strategy, we must occasionally look at the results.
Mr. Chairman, I want to say thank you for holding this hearing, and, obviously, it is critical...
