Mike Capuano is a former U.S. Representative from Massachusetts, serving from 1999 to 2019. A member of the Democratic Party, he represented Massachusetts's 8th congressional district. During his tenure, Capuano was known for his advocacy on issues such as healthcare, education, and civil rights. He served on several committees, including the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, where he focused on infrastructure development and public transportation improvements in his district.
There are almost 200,000 civilians in the six U.N. peacekeeping bases and many of them would not be alive today if not for the U.N.'s presence.
The current leadership needs to be held accountable, because it is impossible for me to believe this type of conduct is taking place without the President or Vice President fully complicitous in these operations.
We will not abandon the people of South Sudan. They are in critical need, and they need the international community.
Imposing sanctions may very well be needed, including arms embargoes and governance issues.
I do think an arms embargo is necessary, can be effective. It is long, long, long, long overdue.
It is necessary as a signal to all the parties and to the people of South Sudan that the international community, the United States, we find this conflict utterly beyond the pale morally.

I hope you understand this is a political game to try once again to, number one, trash the Obama Administration; number two, trash the Iran nuclear deal.
