John Mica is a former U.S. Representative who served Florida's 7th congressional district from 1993 to 2017. We have gone from a risk-based system down to shaking and thoroughly examining everyone and no Plan B.
I am an advocate of private screening under Federal supervision, which hopefully could make better decisions.
You need to set the rules for the screening, oversee it, and audit it and let the private sector do it.
But I do know that known terrorists have gotten through the system. That concerns me.
These are other reasons why we failed to connect the dots in the past, and failing to connect the dots in the future is a concern.
I can tell you it is yes because I have tested the system, and I have ordered more tests of the system for the first time in years and will reconfirm that.
We have lost control of our borders, and your system that protects us and the main computer system has been down, down, and down.
Neffenger is well-intended, but some of the reports that leaked about the poor performance--you saw some cooking of the books, too, on wait times, is that correct, any of you?
