VA must take back customer service.

Nobody should feel trapped in the VA system.

We believe that this program, compared to continuing Choice and Community Care Programs as they are, will actually be billions of dollars less over 10 years.

We need top-quality health care professionals to deliver excellent care and it is a very competitive market.

We need Congress to pass this legislation before December, as you said, Mr. Chairman, to avoid the program running out of money in the Choice Program.

That is a VA strategy that I think is super effective.

It is time to stop researching it and start putting it into practice.

Peer support is something that we are really committed to.

I think that is going to be a big deal in eliminating a gap right now that we have.

I think expanding VA access in mental health will save lives.

I would urge us to work together on that.

It should not be that hard to get people on board.

If we say we are going to commit to something, my expectation is that we commit to it.

I need help in doing that.

We're able to accomplish so much more when we work strategically with our private and public sector partners.

We will continue to look at where veterans need new facilities and advanced facilities.

We need to look at private-public partnerships.

We are going to have to construct different types of facilities.

I believe the future is going to involve several things when it comes to facilities.

I made the decision about 2 months ago to eliminate the Federal requirements on the States for building State nursing homes or State facilities with Federal money.

Florida, as you know, is one of our fastest-growing States in terms of veterans and retired veterans.

I believe this is going to help us improve morale. It is going to help us improve recruitment because people want to work alongside people that share their values.
