I do hereby proclaim the week of April 19 through April 25, 1987, as National Minority Cancer Awareness Week.
Ronald Reagan
The Public Record
Ronald Wilson Reagan was an American politician and actor who served as the 40th president of the United States from 1981 to 1989. A member of the Republican Party, he previously held the office of governor of California from 1967 to 1975. Reagan's presidency is noted for significant tax cuts, a strong anti-communist foreign policy, and the deregulation of various industries. His administration also faced challenges such as the Iran-Contra affair and economic issues, including inflation and unemployment.
I have determined that the Government of Japan has not implemented or enforced major provisions of the Arrangement concerning Trade in Semiconductor Products.
Now, Therefore, I, Ronald Reagan, President of the United States of America, acting under the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the statutes of the United States, do proclaim that:
The administration opposes section 2 because designation of the Special Management Area would preempt the statutorily required land management planning process.
The administration supports designation of the Kings River as a component of the National Wild and Scenic Rivers System.
The United States will continue to consult closely with its allies, and we will not sacrifice their vital interests just to sign an agreement.
By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, and in order to establish an advisory commission on compensation of career Federal executives, it is hereby ordered as follows.
I have never deliberately given anybody hell. I just tell them the truth, and they think it's hell.
