Make no mistake, Governor Pence is no friend of the Affordable Care Act. But he has done the right thing by moving forward to expand Medicaid through the ACA under the title of HIP 2.0.

Hoosiers have long cherished the principle that we must love our neighbor as ourselves, that we must not walk by on the opposite side of the road when our neighbors are hurting and in need.

Low-income, working Hoosiers lack access to the kind of quality health insurance that their better-off neighbors enjoy. Many Hoosiers cannot access affordable coverage and live in uncertainty.

I have long believed that a society may be judged not only by how it deals with its most vulnerable, but also by how it comes alongside those often forgotten working people who are striving every day for a better life.

I think many of us want to support more non-VA care, but we want to maybe set the parameters so it really is possible and really does work.

We need more interoperability between the VA and non-VA care to really make outsource with the non-VA providers more feasible.

I think many of us support the idea of non-VA access given our emergency situation.

I have to think that that is contributing to a shortage of doctors generally.

We have passed four appropriations bills in the House with amendments that call for preventing the contracting with businesses that have a history of wage theft.

I think it is common sense that Americans believe in a vigorous enforcement, especially of our low-wage workers.

$1 billion in wages for more than 1.2 million workers.

The Wage and Hour Division is the Department of Labor's most important tool to ensure that workers are receiving the pay and protections they are entitled to under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

I wish the conversation probably were around things like raising the minimum wage.

I am a new member of Congress, but I have been a small business owner for over half my life.

We have got to try to get it right in the VA facilities because of that expectation that the Selkes' son had, you know, that was their comfort zone.

My thing is if, even if we do approve non-VA, make it more easy, easier for Vets to use that areas like mine, they are still going to have trouble finding that care, you know, in the community.

Has the VA considered offering other incentives such as loan repayments or increased pay for VA providers willing to work in rural and underserved areas?

Well, we know that the VA loses health care providers to the DoD. Why hasn't the VA considered increasing the base pay of the VA health care employees so that they receive comparable pay to the DoD?

Ms. Farrisee, can you tell me how many employees under Title 5... received bonuses?

I mean, these are reasonable guidelines and standards.

I am proud to have started the first deaf caucus in the Congress.

It is frustrating to be a member of Congress and not be able to say, fix this thing and have it fixed.

I can barely contain the anger I feel about this situation and the millions and millions of dollars that have been spent trying to solve this situation.
