One of the things that we ought to be paying attention to here on this committee and in the full committee is we make choices.

There is no doubt the January 6th Committee proved this beyond a doubt, that's exactly what happened.

Last hearing, I provided substantive information and multiple studies that showed that the social media actually amplifies far-right voices more than left voices.

Thank you very much. It's useful to note the actions of the Members of this Committee in that regard.

There's an enforcement issue in that any effort by the FMC to enforce the existing law or any future law would require them to go to court first.

I think we look forward to having another robust, bipartisan success related to ocean shipping.

Don't you think it's a good idea that the FMC have the same power as every other regulatory agency?

It has never been on schedule for anything and here you go again with another delay.

I'm just trying to get my head around all the happy talk that I've heard.

The FMC's increased potency in assisting American cargo shippers is largely due to the enactment by this subcommittee and then consequently by the whole Congress of the Ocean Shipping Reform Act of 2022.

Well, they are big men, but whatever the motivation, we appreciate your answer.

I and other members of the Congressional Labor Caucus submitted a comment letter asking that the wavier be repealed in full so that taxpayer dollars spent on roadway infrastructure support American manufacturing.
