This budget invests in efforts to help businesses build their products here and sell their products and services everywhere, putting Americans back to work.

The director of the National Security Agency said at a security conference in New York in January that Chinese theft of intellectual property is the greatest transfer of wealth in history.

What the Chinese are doing is literally like army ants, systematically stripping every piece of intellectual property, anything of value.

I believe cap-and-trade legislation is a tax, and that regulations which penalize energy producers for producing more energy than needed are the best way to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gases.

I believe these trade agreements are beneficial and should be enacted as quickly as possible.

I support the pending trade agreements with South Korea, Colombia, and Panama, because they will open doors to American goods and services in those countries.

I share the President's commitment to look for sensible means to address our Nation's energy challenges that support job creation and economic growth.

I'm committed to helping simplify regulations that are difficult to understand, eliminate regulations that are ineffective and speed up regulatory decisions so American businesses can have the certainty they need.

If confirmed, I will be committed to the strong enforcement of our trade remedy laws. U.S. companies and workers need a level playing field on which to compete.

Job creation through economic growth will be my priority.

President Obama set a goal of doubling U.S. exports by 2015. Meeting that goal will mean millions of jobs for Americans.

The top challenge facing the Department is the top challenge facing the American people: There are too many people out of work and not enough jobs.

I will not rest while there's a lever left to throw.

The American people expect us to work together, especially during a time when so much is at stake and so much is uncertain.

The American people expect their government to do more with less, keeping its shoulder to the wheel of a recovery too many are still waiting to feel in their own lives.
