These drivers... are overworked and underpaid, which I think leads to unsafe roads, because of the welfare of the driver.

I represent the Port of Los Angeles. And, along with Long Beach, it is the largest port complex in this country.

What do you--is there a role--is there a Federal role in fixing this injustice? And what would that be?

I would like to see that, really, as a policy, nationwide. I think it makes a lot of sense.

I approached Chairman Benishek with my legislation--H.R. 627, which updates the definition of 'homeless veteran' to include victims fleeing domestic violence.

Today, I want to address one segment of homeless veterans--those who are homeless because of domestic violence.

With that, I urge all my colleagues to show your support for our nation's heroes by signing onto H.R. 271.

If it helps one veteran get the support they need and to leave a dangerous situation, then our work here will be worth every minute.
