Before anyone heeds any new, unwarranted calls to extend the Jones Act, or to do away with it, we first need to understand better the reality of what is happening on the island.
Waiving the Jones Act now will not provide any additional relief to the hurricane victims on the island.
Unless you are asking for these things, they are not going to be wished upon you by the fairy God Congress.
I am confident we have support within the committee to maintain the Jones Act as it should be for America.
I think it is important that you--that the Coast Guard go to the President at this point and say, look, this is what we have incurred and we need to be included in this supplemental.
If President Trump does what he has been talking about in his campaign and after he has gotten elected, the last thing he should be doing is waiving the Jones Act.

The blended retirement is probably more important, I would guess, to the other services.
But what I would like you to do right now is talk about it in terms of capability.
When will you have your requirements to give the subcommittee, what you have whittled it down to?
But if you want to make the icebreaker everything to everybody, it will be master of none, and it will be massively expensive.
So you are saying, here is all the stuff we wanted. Now we are going to cut it down to what we can afford?
there is no requirement in any operational plan anywhere in the world for an icebreaker.
