Why are we giving money to people who have not even given up the concept that they are going to destroy Israel as it exists?

I believe the real peace will come, if it ever does--and if it does, it will be predicated on Israel giving up all of the settlements in the West Bank.

What are we using--or what are we spending all this money for, if it is not to promote peace?

I strongly oppose any and all of these efforts, and believe that it is in the best interests of the Palestinian people, the Israeli people, and the peace process that this resolution as conceived not be offered.

Yes, Mr. Berman, there are some of us who would like to cut funds to the United Nations when those funds are not used to promote peace.

Let us just note that there has been some progress made, but I don't think you can draw that to the $5 billion that we have given to the Palestinians.
