I think it's really clear that he wants to be able to say that he's been totally exonerated because if I - I think that the way the Senate is going, he is not going to be convicted.

So, what he wants is a fast trial, not a fair trial. And so, this is what we have.

Basically, this whole thing is what I would call a rigged trial.

Well what I would like to see is the Senate vote to subpoena Bolton's testimony.

And so, just as the President was trying to basically rig the election, for himself, by leaning on the President of another country to do his political dirty work, using $400 million of taxpayer money for that purpose, he's trying to rig…

And also, you can't invoke Executive privilege or immunity to cover up crimes.

So, I don't know where Marco is coming up with this kind of explanation, except that he's totally supporting the President and the President's desire to cover-up and rig the Senate trial.

I think he's very afraid of what Bolton is going to testify to because Bolton, I don't think, is interested in perjuring himself.

Well one would hope - I would hope that there would be four courageous Senators who want to have a fair trial.

Oh, this is part of the President's ongoing desire to stonewall that - first, the impeachment inquiry in the House, and basically to throw out a blanket immunity position.

It puts the responsibility directly on the president that he shook down the president of another country for his own political ends.

They corroborate what's already been testified to by the witnesses, that the president wanted the aid to be frozen. And then these unredacted emails just verify that.

So we need to do everything we can to bring truth to light. And thank goodness that this redacted evidence is yet another, in my view, evidence of the president's wrongdoing.

And my expectation is that there will be a trial. It may not be -- it probably won't be if Mitch has his way the kind of fair trial that we should be having.

But expressing concerns does not mean that they're actually going to vote with us in insisting that witnesses be called and documents be produced.

The president hopes is that by continuing to lie to the American people as he does from day one of the presidency, that the American public will be fooled.

We have an attorney general whose first instinct always is to protect the president.

The investigation was based on the thinnest of suspicions and an intrusive investigation. That is not what the IG concluded. Once again, Barr misleads and that's using a nice word.

We have to discern whether the President is putting his business and personal interests above our Nation's.

The bottom line is that, if the President had fully divested from his company, this hearing would not be necessary.

I don't think that any public servant, Members of Congress, the President, are above the law, but I don't think that that sentiment is shared at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

If you do not take risks, you do not get the great advances.

I have opposed these efforts to widen and to toll these roads. I support tolling more in the case of new facilities, not in existing facilities.

It wouldn't surprise me if this administration has sights set on what it would like American to look like.
