One of my major concerns I had, I only have been here 3½ years in Congress, but was the affordability of a college education.

If we don't get this right where you can educate people at a reasonable cost, the rest of that stuff is not going to matter.

The price of failure. That is huge in this country, when we fail and don't graduate our students.

It is ridiculous when you bring on a standard that is not attainable by any technology in the world.

We have an opportunity now in this country to be energy independent in the next 8 years.

And what we need in Washington, DC, is some good old southwest Virginia common sense.

So what you are saying to me is that there is no way forward currently to build a coal-fired power plant in this country.

In this country right now, there is a war on jobs, there is a bulls eye on the coal industry and jobs in southwest Virginia and West Virginia and Wyoming and Colorado.

This is what bothers me about what is going on in Washington, DC,. now. We are picking winners and losers.

Higher electricity prices are another hidden tax--another hidden tax--on the middle-income earners of the United States of America.

It is not only jobs, it is national security, that is what we are talking about.

That is very disturbing to me.
