I firmly believe the United States military remains the world's best, I am concerned about shortfalls in readiness.

The young men and women that are on our flight decks, in our squadrons flying those missions are the best that I have ever seen.

Where does that lead us as far as risk? And when I talk about risk, it is survivability of pilots in those high-stress and high-end conflict scenarios.

I think we might have less success, we might have more losses.

Is that the right way to go about managing this?

Thank you for holding today's hearing on national marine monuments and sanctuaries.

My concern is that the National Marine Sanctuaries Act does not contain any legal protections for fishermen.

do we believe that that is the right way to manage these particular areas?

Do you believe that is proper?

In order for a bomber to deliver gravity--to deliver a gravity bomb it must fly over or approximate to the target.

The capacity to be able to do that adds value, brings flexibility, and it confounds the enemy's belief that they might be able to attack us and get away with it.
