I want to thank Members of this committee on both sides of the aisle for supporting $40 million for drug courts in fiscal year 2012.

But for the grace of God and the access I had to treatment, I would be dead by now from my alcoholism.

We need to deal with the front end and stop sending so many people to prison.

Unfortunately a group, the Drug Policy Alliance has apparently made numerous claims about drug courts before this subcommittee that simply are not true.

I think the Congress has fundamentally and this Administration and previous Administrations have failed the American Indians.
