I want to be on the record--this is a disaster waiting to happen.

If we can rebuild cities in foreign and sometimes hostile countries, we need to make them deliver upon a commitment to our fellow U.S. citizens.

The federal government needs to take control, at least let the state and local government -- get out of the way. Either lead or get out of the way.

He has the executive authority to cut through all this red tape, bureaucratic red tape. We're being held hostage down here, hostage to the oil and hostage to incompetent, cumbersome federal bureaucracy.

There's no sense of urgency. There's no intensification of manpower and equipment. There's bureaucratic red tape.

It's just like a hostage crisis. We're on day 77, we've been hostage -- taken hostage by the oil, and we're also hostage to bureaucratic red tape.

We would like to call upon the president to get involved, exercise his executive actually, and overturn that decision by the Corps.
