These people would rather be working. But, since they have lost their jobs and their livelihood because of BP's negligence, they ought to be putting the money in their pockets, instead of putting it in a public relations campaign.

We would like to call upon the President to get involved. Exercise his executive authority and overturn that decision by the Corps.
The President of the United States needs to exercise his executive authority, cut through the red tape, and order these agencies to get it done.
At this point in time, every day, every hour, every minute counts. This is just another example of the unmitigated failure that the federal government and the federal response has been to date.
He has the executive authority to cut through all this red tape, bureaucratic red tape. We're being held hostage down here, hostage to the oil and hostage to incompetent, cumbersome federal bureaucracy.
