I fear that despite Sinclair's failed merger that these changes will continue to negatively affect the broadcast market for years to come.

These practices by ISPs do not incentivize innovation or competition, and they are not in the public interest.

I sincerely hope that this hearing is just the beginning of a much broader and deeper investigation into these changes.

However, the advances in this market are threatened by the FCC's repeal of Net Neutrality rules.

Public safety communications and the integrity of our 9-1-1 system is of paramount importance to our nation.

I hope we can advance this legislation as well.

New Jersey must end this double taxation of its citizens and stop leaving counties scrambling to fund essential emergency services.

Such incidents require full-scale responses that take time and money away from departments tasked with protecting the public.

This bill seeks to further direct and clarify the FCC's efforts to investigate and report on this practice.

I would urge the majority and the chairman to keep this in mind if they hope to address this underlying issue.

I hope as the committee examines this issue that we continue our due diligence.

I am happy to once again support my colleague Mr. Engel's bill to rein in this dangerous practice.

I would like to call that number every time I see somebody texting while they are driving their car.

This is going on and we think your committee should investigate it, and it's a load of crap.

This was never targeted at conservative Republicans.
