I call upon the region's governments to work with the United States and do their parts to find the solution to this growing humanitarian crisis.

I want to thank the gentleman for bringing up the Iranian threat in the Western Hemisphere, something that I have been following.

I appreciate his calling this hearing and staying on top of these matters.

It is time to pass it again and I thank the gentleman for his efforts on this.

I have to tell you, Mr. Meiburg and Mr. Reeder, what I have heard over these last few months about the EPA is absolutely the worse I have heard of any department or agency in the entire Federal Government.

I appreciate them working together in a bilateral agreement to facilitate trade and all that.

I don't think we can provide enough money to pay those officers.

It seems to me the people who are running the EPA--both of you gentlemen are very high level EPA employees--people who are running the EPA should be ashamed. You should be embarrassed.

Secretary Johnson assured me that it wasn't necessary, that he was going to implement the same acquisition reforms at DHS.

Last year, the House passed a bill that I authored to put acquisition reform in place.

I just don't think the majority of the American people agree with the Obama administration that this deal will lead to a nuclear bomb.

I told Secretary Kerry in this hearing a couple of weeks ago never to disarm the United States Marines ever again.

I think they should. I have been impressed.

Wouldn't you agree the Arab Spring combined a lot of those different Shia Sunni elements?

Iran has continually violated past obligations with regards to sanctions and sanctions relief and all of that. What is to make us think that they are not going to violate this?

Today, I want to consider implications for the U.S. and countries in this region if we continue to ignore Iran and Hezbollah's activities here in our hemisphere.

For years, Iran has tested the patience of the world with its defiance of international sanctions and its support for terrorism.

At a time when world powers are negotiating with Iran over its illicit nuclear weapons program to reach a deal by the March 31st deadline, Iran has not shown a commitment to good faith negotiations to peace.

I mean, you can understand the sympathy with especially Chavez in power with ALBA countries and the ties there that possibly Chavez opened some doors in the ALBA countries for Iran as he furthered that relationship.
