I think it is important to emphasize that the Affordable Care Act is here and it deals with health care.

I always believe that the exercise of our oversight is crucial and important.

The oversight conducted by this committee over several years has found one IT system after another that has failed to perform or failed to be completed after millions of dollars have been spent.

I want to say to those in the Mickey Leland Building in Houston and FPS, we respect and thank you for your great service.

He worked with me over the last two sessions, Mr. Speaker, in providing extra funding for post-traumatic stress disorder...

I remember his commitment to our soldiers and his easy ability to work across the aisle.

He was really what America is all about, the American dream.

He loved soldiers and veterans. He loved their families.

What a great American. What a great patriot. What a great public servant.

What would be the return to the Government if that was to occur?

I think Mr. Palazzo asked a very important question.

Didn't you already have a pilot process previously?

I agree that our responsibility and why we are joining in on this bipartisan bill that we have just introduced this week is the idea of securing the border.

Let me thank Chairwoman Miller for holding this hearing and reminding us of the tragedy and the journey that we have taken since 9/11.

But this is no reason not to go forward?

Is this any reason to stop moving forward on the Affordable Care Act processes that have been put in place by the Congress and by Health and Human Services?

I think the worst thing we can do is get in a battle over who thought of this first.

I would take issue on this question of credibility of this administration.

This is not who gets credit; this is to recognize that we are working together on the issue of chemical weapons.

Are you using a billion dollars for training, and why, and where does that money go?

Do you have a process that indicates to personnel or to employees of a process, an open and conspicuous process, that they know where to go if they feel that they have been discriminated against where they will not suffer retaliation?

Are you dealing forthrightly with cases of discrimination, complaints of discrimination by your employee base, and taking those discrimination complaints seriously?

I think this committee is holding this hearing, No. 1, to contribute to the trust that the traveling public should have.

We have worked on this committee, it has been my cause to work on the issue of professional development...
