I want to thank and commend both nominees for your enduring commitment to public service.

We know that communities will continue to suffer from the persistent challenges flowing from the pandemic.

And thanks for your leadership on a number of the issues we are going to raise with our two nominees.

The American people are blessed to have an IC that's as serious as ours is.

I want to thank you, Mr. Chairman, for the work that you did working with Senator Brown, Senator Bennet, and others on the expansion of the Child Tax Credit.

I especially appreciate your ongoing and significant advocacy on behalf of people with disabilities, continuing with your testimony today.

I want to thank Ranking Member Burr, and I want to thank our witnesses today for giving us the benefit of your expertise and your experience.

Individuals with disabilities have been disproportionately impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, and that's a certainty.

I also have legislation I've authored to expand low-income protection for seniors and people with disabilities.

I know this is true of a number of Senators, legislation to take steps in the right direction.

We have an obligation to act, and I've heard it from folks all across Pennsylvania.
