At the end of the day, this issue is about protecting the jobs of thousands of Americans and ensuring that families have access to affordable electricity.

Trying to put something into the treaty that at least one of the principal entities being, you know, the government, is adamantly opposed to would seem to me to be very problematic in terms of getting to a successful negotiation.

I also wanted to acknowledge Congressman DeFazio's years of service and support for rural electric co-ops like Lane Electric.

I mean, it seems to me it has evolved quite a bit since the original treaty.
