You are making it seem, to me, that you are doing them a favor by hiring them and then making them work a lot of hours and not paying them.

I look at just my largest city, which is the city of Cleveland; 54 percent of all the kids there live in poverty.

But what solutions should this committee consider to ensure that programs like summer meals are flexible enough to serve kids in need?

I think that what we spend on feeding kids in this country is a great value, especially since we spend about $3 million per hour on war that we have never authorized.

Clearly there is one thing we agree on, and that is that the Fair Labor Standards Act is outdated and is in need of updating.
