Why would we, representing the taxpayers we represent, give you all this extra money you are asking for if this is what the IRS is doing with hard-earned taxpayer dollars?

Just don't forget, you work for the taxpayer, it is not the other way around.

Unless this bill passes the Congress in the context of an overall budget framework, meaning one that supports the president's plan to increase non-Defense discretionary spending, the president's senior advisors would recommend a veto.

This type of inequity for the families of a loved one who perished while serving their country is wrong and needs to be corrected and fixed.

The President is holding the defense budget hostage for higher taxes and more spending.

Are you aware of a bill I authored with Rep. Jason Chaffetz--H.R. 1770--that would provide the necessary legislative fix for this inequity?

The first duty of government is to keep us safe. And to keep us safe, our strategy should drive our budget.
