What I find interesting in your report is the main driver of these outlays that are going up so fast are the health care programs.
If we lower our tax rates--and believe me, there is a way to do this without losing revenue.
I just think it is important as we have this discussion to say, well, we have these points in history where the debt ran up.
The reason this debt limit fight is coming is because when we have had great fiscal bipartisan agreements in the past...
If the minority would have been willing to agree to limiting their motions to instruct conferees to two, we could have gone to conference.
If we miss this moment, if we just kick the can because we keep fighting each other, then we will not get this opportunity.
It is also the fact that health inflation is getting out of control, it is running faster than everything else.
