Grace Meng is a member of the United States House of Representatives, representing New York's 6th congressional district since 2013. A member of the Democratic Party, she made history as the first Asian American woman elected to Congress. Throughout her tenure, Meng has focused on various issues, including education, healthcare, and public media funding. She has been an advocate for local stations and has expressed concerns about the impact of federal funding cuts on public media infrastructure.
For over a year, Asian Americans have been fighting an additional virus of hate and bigotry.

I was wondering if and how EDA is evaluating applications from high-poverty urban areas to ensure their applications receive additional priority?
Last year's spending bill included language requiring EDA to direct 10 percent of its funds towards helping persistent-poverty counties, specifically in rural areas.
When it comes to making hard decisions about infrastructure, low-income communities and communities of color often get the short end of the stick.
I think this is great and will help maintain U.S.' scientific leadership globally.
I wanted to echo the comments and questions and concerns of my colleague Representative Brenda Lawrence about ensuring that inmates have sufficient menstrual hygiene products in our facilities.
