If the past year has taught us nothing else, it's that no one is too small, no one is too big, we all must play a part in protecting ourselves from these attacks.

Ransomware attacks have devastating real-world consequences for Americans.

It is also vital that the Secret Service has the authorities and resources to investigate ransomware attacks and illicit financing operations.

The United States right now, I think, faces an overwhelming threat from cyber crime, especially ransomware.

This impacts every place in America, including my constituents who have recently been victims of these types of attacks.

I do want to note Representative Langevin's leadership on this important issue and his transparency with the Minority.

This joint hearing is a great opportunity to continue that work, focusing on the transportation sector, which impacts millions of Americans.

As you know all, cybersecurity remains an area of bipartisan cooperation in Congress.

As the Ranking Member of the Cybersecurity Subcommittee, I know that cyber risks are some of the greatest threats to our Nation's communications infrastructure.

Why would they purchase equipment from a known foreign adversary, especially in the light of well-documented cybersecurity vulnerabilities?

This is the exact attack that President Biden had messaged to President Putin against.

We must not delay in providing such funds once the Bipartisan Infrastructure Investment in Jobs Act is considered by Congress.

If this amendment is agreed to, it will prioritize the consideration of the infrastructure package over the partisan wish list.

Unfortunately, House democratic leadership has instead prioritized the partisan goal of pushing through this reconciliation budget resolution.

We cannot allow these devastating attacks against our Nation to continue.

We must ensure that CISA has the visibility it needs to help defend our Federal networks.

H.R. 4256 delivers modernization and provides further access to capital for small businesses in my district in New York and beyond.
