Andrew Cuomo is an American politician who served as the 56th governor of New York from 2011 to 2021. A member of the Democratic Party, he focused on issues such as economic development, healthcare reform, and education during his tenure. Prior to his governorship, Cuomo served as the Attorney General of New York from 2007 to 2010, where he gained recognition for his work on consumer protection and public corruption cases. He also held the position of Secretary of Housing and Urban Development under President Bill Clinton from 1997 to 2001, advocating for affordable housing and urban development initiatives.
Now we need a leader as good as our people, a leader who appeals to the best within us, not the worst.
Donald Trump didn’t create the initial division. The division created Trump, he only made it worse.

You drive through some of these communities and you can see that social distancing isn't happening. PPE is not being used. And, hence, the virus spreads.
We have turned the corner, and we're on the decline. You take New York out of the national numbers, the numbers for the rest of the nation are going up. What we're doing here shows results.
You see the decline is, again, not as steep as the incline, but reopening is more difficult than the close down.
You don't need protests to convince anyone in this country that we have to get back to work and we have to get the economy going and we have to get out of our homes. Nobody. The question is going to become, how, when, how fast?
When you were home with your doors locked, dealing with cabin fever, they were out there dealing with the coronavirus. I would say hazard pay, give them a 50 percent bonus. And I would do that now.
I say, personal opinion, it's over when we have a vaccine. It's over when people know 'I'm 100% safe and I don't have to worry about this.'
New Yorkers have three days to comply, but after that three-day period, anytime you're out, you'll need to have your face covered.
I'm calling on the federal government to bring in the Defense Production Act here because... testing really needs to be scaled up.
Let's learn from this moment and let's learn these lessons and let's do it now.
