Eliminating opportunities for excellence doesn’t help underserved kids, it perpetuates the problem.

Andrew Cuomo is an American politician who served as the 56th governor of New York from 2011 to 2021. A member of the Democratic Party, he focused on issues such as economic development, healthcare reform, and education during his tenure. Prior to his governorship, Cuomo served as the Attorney General of New York from 2007 to 2010, where he gained recognition for his work on consumer protection and public corruption cases. He also held the position of Secretary of Housing and Urban Development under President Bill Clinton from 1997 to 2001, advocating for affordable housing and urban development initiatives.
Is there gross income inequality? Yes. And are billionaires an example of the grossest of inequality, especially when you have such poverty in this country today? Yes.
I would welcome his support. You know, this is a general election, it’s Democrats, Republicans, independents.
In general, have I learned to be more careful, frankly? Just don't put yourself in a situation where anyone can say anything, where you always have a witness? Certainly.
I have not had a conversation, nor would I accept an endorsement from President Trump.
He has said, basically, if Mamdani wins the election, that he would — President Trump would — basically have to take control of New York, because Mamdani is not qualified.
As we’ve done before when Washington’s dysfunction has shut down the government, New York will step up and ensure the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island remain open for the world to look to for strength and hope during this tumultuous time.
However, I recognize some of those decisions caused pain in the Jewish community because we did not always fully consider the sensitivities and traditions that are so deeply important.
