I think the message is loud and clear, what's going on out there, and for that, I can't thank you enough.

That could be a burden on innovation.

We all agree that patent holders should be protected under the law. They should be able to assert patent protection methods.

It is my feeling that as long as we have veterans waiting more than 125 days on a claim for disability compensation, we have not fulfilled America's promise to our veterans.

It is a great honor to serve veterans.

For me and I think for all of us here, it is simply unacceptable.

I believe that targeted legislation like Senate Bill 1148 takes us another step forward to helping our Nation's veterans.

Democrats, Republicans, the President, Secretary Shinseki are all concerned about this issue.

These individuals should not also feel burdened by the financial strain of having to wait several months for these benefits.

Thank you and the Ranking Member for holding this hearing.

I hope that we will remember our commitment to caring for these brave heroes who have sacrificed greatly to serve this country.

It is a breath of fresh air.

This is a problem that I know we all want to fix.

We have not passed a budget here in Washington, D.C., in 5 years.

What sense does it make to raise the debt ceiling and yet do so without any structural changes to this Government?

I think this is as critical of a hearing as we can have at this date and time.

I do not have to tell many here that terrorism is a nationwide threat and it can happen in any city.

I want to thank you and the Ranking Member for holding this, what I consider to be a very important hearing.

I mentioned early on in my discussions with the Administrator about my concerns about this communication, and you heard his answer.

I'm pleased to speak in support of S. 974, Las Vegas Valley Public Land and Tule Springs Fossil Beds National Monument Act of 2013.

Additionally, the bill will create a 10,000 acre recreation area to be administered by the BLM for use by off-highway vehicles in southern Nevada.

The centerpiece of the bill is the designation of the Tule Springs Fossil Beds National Monument in the Upper Las Vegas Wash.

Eighty-seven percent of Nevada's lands are controlled by the federal government-so the health of our communities is intertwined with our public lands and the actions of land management agencies.
