I believe it is long overdue for this Committee to exert its oversight and hold leadership within VA accountable.

If VA continues on this course, I think it is ultimately time to look to the top for these changes.

As Nevada's representative on this Committee, I believe it is also my role and responsibility to get answers for Nevada's veterans about the problems they are facing with VA care and benefits.

It is unacceptable that local VA officials would limit any Congressional office's ability to get answers for their veterans constituents.

At some point in the last decade, GM knew that there was a problem with a faulty ignition switch, which led to the death of 13 people.

It looks like GM was not forthcoming with the American people who bailed them out.

Our goal, as part of that relationship, is to ensure that we are catching any defects involved.

I want to make sure we have a complete understanding, because only with a complete understanding can we make all the changes we need to make from both a people and a process perspective.
