these workplace safety standards were not developed over night. They were discussed under a Republican administration. It took thousands and thousands of comments, 7,000 written comments. One thousand individuals came to hearings across the Nation. They were not developed overnight. As a result, these regulations were promulgated, put forth, only nine pages to protect American workers. They have not even been put into effect yet. The Republican majority today, and President George W. Bush, want to throw out these workplace safety regulations before they have even been put into effect after 10 years of discussion and work. Vote no on this rule.
