I think you are doing some of the most meaningful work in this Congress by your diligence here, and I am proud to be associated with it in a very minor way after the work you have done.

Provocation is not the goal of these questions; a sober analysis is.

I understand this is a conceptual proposal, but we don't legislate concepts; we legislate statutes and they have real impact on real people.

It is appalling. But, you know, when all seems lost, there are some metrics... that make you feel a little more optimistic.
