Over the past few months, Mayor Baraka, as well as advocates, faith leaders, and members of our Congressional delegation, have protested the opening of a private immigration detention center in the city of Newark.

What the people of New Jersey need right now is for the members of the BLET to step up and meet their obligations to the public.

If they’re going to play these games, we’re going to have to be just as aggressive.

I’m outraged by the arrest. Baraka is an exemplary public servant.
