According to Governor Sherrill, around 400 of these individuals successfully voted in elections since 2023.

It is not a surprise to me that the federal government, that the Trump administration, wants to weaponize this against people as opposed to focusing on making sure that we’re running free and fair elections.

The difference is simple: when we find a problem, we don't hide it, deny it, or invent conspiracies. We investigate it, we fix it, and we tell the public.

The commissioner was already in the process of removing them for their incompetence.
