I concur with my colleague with regard to the importance of the smokeless nitrocellulose provision included in this year's defense spending bill. In fact the importance of this provision cannot be overemphasized because Green Tree now produces the qualified nitrocellulose for the Trident II, LOSAT, TOW and HELLFIRE missile programs. Had the provision providing the $2 million procurement of nitrocellulose been omitted, these important missile programs could have been disrupted because re-qualifying DoD materials can be costly and time consuming.
