I think it is absolutely in the hands of the people who sit in this Chamber to make the decisions. We are elected to talk about priorities. Where are the priorities in this Nation with regard to homeland defense, and certainly with our longrun health and security-- that American promise that we hear and we all embrace? We are making a choice that a tax cut, which is going to promise those who are already doing really well--that 1 percent, that 5 percent, or 20 percent; however you cut it--they are more important than our kids in making sure that everybody has access to the American promise.
