I think we all admit there is a problem, and the faster we get to the bottom of it, the more veterans we are going to be able to help.

It is my hope that by bringing attention to this topic we can assure that every dollar appropriated to the VA is being spent properly on care and benefits for our veterans.

It is simply unacceptable in a time of tightening belts that over $1 billion is being wasted by the VA due to a computer error when the money could be put towards benefits and health care for our Nation's veterans.
any veteran that is denied a benefit because their records are lost due to no fault of their own is just unacceptable.
I think sometimes as we step back and look at things like this, we really have to be cautious.
I have such deep emotions on this as a retired military person. The anger and the disgust and the frustration all boil up on how do we end up in this point.
We measure everything else, but was the job we are there to do, which is service the veteran, done right?
I think Congressman Walz and Ms. Pingree both agree that, the chances of a false claim are very minimal in cases like this.
