I have made it clear that one of my top priorities in any final energy conference report is providing investments in our energy infrastructure.

To make our energy future more secure, we must make serious investments in our aging and often outdated energy infrastructure.

We must take real action to enhance and protect our energy infrastructure.

Simply put, an energy future that reduces our carbon emissions and our reliance on fossil fuels is a more secure energy future.

Our country must take a broader approach that encompasses cleaner energy technologies including renewable energy technologies, which are becoming more affordable.

I don't want to see the GOP efforts to say, look, we have got to cut back on this or cut back on that, reduce the money for outreach.

For the first time more than 90 percent of all Americans have health insurance.

The uninsured rate was at 9.1 percent in 2015, down from 16 percent in 2010.

I continue to be amazed by Republican attempts to suggest that things were better before the ACA.

To use this deeply flawed GAO report to try to say that people can get so-called free health insurance is utterly ridiculous.

But whenever we have any suggestion from the--I don't hear anything from the other side of the aisle other than, whatever has been proposed and whatever we try to do to change the system and make it better, which truly has been successful…

They created false identities and attempted to enroll in coverage concluding that the system remains vulnerable to fraud.

I will continue to be critical of the way the GAO carried out this investigation.

It is clear that the GOP just wants to repeal the ACA and continue to point out problems with the health care system in general without proposing any alternatives.

It is clear that we can and should be doing more to ensure that Americans are able to access necessary mental health and substance use disorder services.

Current mental health parity law requires that insurers treat mental health and substance use disorder care the same way they treat medical or physical care.

I just want to thank you, Mr. Chairman, and Mr. Green for this hearing on the state of mental health parity in America.

I would tend to prefer, as much like the Federal Power Act statutes, that are broadly written, that delegate broad authority to the experts and allow them the flexibility to adapt to changing market conditions.

I think it is probably fair to say that at the end of this inquiry, you would come to conclusions that changes to the power act need to be made.

The Federal Power Act has weathered these changes, but whether it remains fit for purpose for the electricity industry in the 21st century is an important question to consider.

We need to begin exploring what types of changes if any need to be made to the Federal Power Act...
