As Chair of this subcommittee, I am particularly perturbed by the number of violent assaults against our TSOs in recent months.

These hardworking men and women have been on the front lines throughout the pandemic, and simply should not have to endure this kind of treatment.

I am concerned with when you find substantiated allegations, what are the consequences to the individuals that either perpetrated the harassment or the discrimination or allowed it and didn't do anything about it?

we cannot have people who are trying to serve our country in this capacity or any to be harassed or discriminated against because they are a woman or a minority or a gay or whatever.

Has there been a public apology specifically to her on this issue?

there have got to be consequences, because if there are no consequences, there is no changed behavior.

I have great respect for your mission, for your leadership, and you know where I stand as it relates to making sure that you have the fleet that you need.

Juneteenth is a day for me of commemoration, not of celebration, because it reminds us of something that was delayed in happening. It also reminds me of what we don't have today, and that is full access to justice, freedom, and equality…

Would you support placing the TSA employees on the GS System that is used by most of the Federal agencies?

Would you consider directing TSA and CISA to work collaboratively to issue required cybersecurity standards?

How do you propose Congress pay for those expensive actions?

I am encouraged by a number of initiatives as you have advanced today and priorities for DHS.

We need private-sector critical infrastructure to step up--not just by investing in their own cybersecurity, but also by partnering with the Federal Government.

I must note my disappointment that the FBI declined an invitation to attend this hearing.
