I know that this is a problem, and I know that it disproportionately impacts Black and Brown communities on so many levels and the economically depressed.

I think that is so vitally important.

I want to talk to you a little bit about this whole issue of reconnecting neighborhoods.

I am glad that it is President Biden in the White House right now and I am very glad that you are the Secretary of Transportation.

So, Mr. Chairman, I think this is wonderful. And I represent the capital of the State of New Jersey, the very historic city of Trenton.

We are very much interested in being a partner here.

I introduced a bill called the SHADE Act, which would have put $50 million over a 5-year--for a 5-or-so-year period.

It is now for us to put into practice the information that we know and to act on it.

The most significant impact we can make on children is their education.

I announced last year a commitment to the personnel of TSA to provide them with pay commensurate with their Federal colleagues throughout the Federal Government and also to provide them with collective bargaining rights.

I also know that you are in favor of expanding bargaining rights because they have had very limited access to determine their plight and fighting for their rights.

The one thing I want is for children, irrespective of their race, their color, or whatever, to feel equally valued.

Thank you very much, Chairman and Ranking Member Cole. Thank you for this. It is really interesting. I am learning a lot, and I know I don't know a lot.

I am interested in 988 being made publicly available and diverse in who answers that phone.

I am particularly concerned about mental health and suicide and those things that affect black youth, black women, black men. Other sort of underserved communities.

It seems to me that the FDA is relying on--that we rely upon the FDA on the science, on the efficacy of the therapy or the medication, and CMS makes a determination as to whether or not it should be covered.

I am someone that believes that drones are a potential threat, that they are a real threat, and that we do need to have protection of our safety and security.

We must consider the First Amendment of the Constitution and the freedom of the press.

We must consider fundamental principles like privacy and due process.

We need to balance both [risks and benefits].

It is imperative that we open up this important conversation to the public, and privacy and civil liberties stakeholders in particular.

I think that your budget proposal, the President's budget proposal definitely moves in the right direction in so many areas that are important to us.

I really believe that they are an answer to a lot of our issues in our particularly underserved communities.

I think the community schools that have diversity of services to both the child and the parent... is vitally important to our communities, and I strongly support it.
