Doggone it, I am angry.

It is shameful that we should have this much discussion right now how to protect our vote from the shenanigans, particularly the undermining that takes place coming out of the President's mouth.

But the understanding I have is that we had an indication that we had a problem as far back as November 2019.

We definitely need leadership, something that we have not had from the President of the United States.

On May 8, the President said that the coronavirus 'will go away without a vaccine.'

You need to understand what you need, which I think you do, Mr. Gaynor, but you need to be bold enough to ask for it.

had we implemented social distancing guidelines as far back as March 1, we would have possibly decreased the death rate from COVID between 80 and 90 percent.

Is this not something that is attributed to the fact that we haven't had a rigorous, rational, and consistent Federal leadership and coordination around these issues?

I submit to you that that still has to do with the lack of leadership, guidance, regulations and accountability, suggestions and helpfulness on the part of this failed administration.

I think one of the really important pieces of all of this is to make sure that there is independent oversight by an entity like the GAO.

Ultimately, they are the ones that are going to be held responsible, and we want to make sure that we are doing all the work that we need to do to ensure that when we do reopen, we reopen safely.
