I have long thought, maybe it is because I was raised in eastern North Carolina, that if you owe someone money and you can't pay them back, they just don't have the same respect for you.

I believe sincerely that that is the biggest threat to our national security, is the growing debt.

I have said many times that I just do not see how this country can continue to do what is necessary to maintain a strong military, unless there is some debate in the Congress about a war tax, because I don't know where the money is going…

If we don't level with the American people in this very unsafe world that we live in, if we want to win the war or protect Americans then we cannot continue to go into deficit situations.

I can assure you that what we really need is comprehensive immigration enforcement, secure borders and ports of entry, and the oversight of Congress to ensure that America and American families are job one.

Until the FBI is allowed to track and report illegal alien crime, it is doubtful that the American people will understand how severe the problem of violent illegal alien crime is.

Then you believe that, as anyone, you have a right to believe that the government should dictate how your conscience functions? Then it is a sad day.

If that is the American military, then I am sure George Washington would be very disappointed...

this is nothing but an abdication of our constitutional responsibility to give any President an AUMF.

The American people--over 50 percent of the American people do not want our personnel in Syria or in Iraq.

I wanted to know about the waste, fraud, and abuse that is taking place every day and what is the Department of Defense trying to do about it?

the American taxpayer is absolutely frustrated and broke because of these overseas activities.

The Afghan's parliament had the right to vote on a 10-year bilateral security agreement, and we in Congress have not had that opportunity. I don't blame the President for that; I blame ourselves, quite frankly.

Just, when you put a cap on how much you are going to allow for spending in defense, you make it an arithmetic exercise, rather than basing the expense on your national strategic plan or the threats that you face.

The strangulation plan the Pentagon has foisted out would mean higher prices at the commissaries, making commissary shopping less attractive, resulting in fewer customer visits and diminished sales.

To uphold this moral contract with our men and women in uniform, their families, and military retirees, we urge rejection of the new Pentagon plan to set participation fees for TRICARE programs.
