Would the Administration support my criminal background check bill?

Senator Burr has introduced legislation, S. 581, the Child Care Protection Act, to require a comprehensive background check for licensed care and those receiving CCDBG subsidies.

I look forward to what this newly constructed subcommittee will be working on.

Senator Burr's bill, S. 277, is a step in the right direction in rectifying this tragic situation.

I cannot imagine any company in America not referring to their counsel or to outside counsel an allegation by an employee or a customer of sexual charges.

Sometimes common sense has to trump trying to look for some major breakthrough that is not being used.

I would think that anyone here today who found out that the water they had been drinking contained gasoline would find that a little alarming.

Our Nation is faced with staggering deficits and debt and is on a fiscal path that is unsustainable.

This cannot be allowed to continue. It seems like it occurs almost every time we have a hearing.

I hope the Senators on this Committee will take a closer look at this issue and seriously consider the scope and severity of the contamination.

I would be willing to bet that there is not a VSO--and I will ask them at the next hearing how many of them know that you have got an incentive program.

I want to make sure we pay for those benefits and the services by looking at other programs and looking at cuts.
