The railroad industry makes significant contributions to the U.S. economy, and its high capacity to move freight with low emissions provides benefits to the environment.

Freight rail is an essential part of the U.S. economy and is a major employer.

The COVID pandemic over the last year has had widespread and long-lasting effects, including a significant shutdown of the U.S. economy.

While Government assistance has been important to helping the aviation industry through this historic pandemic, recovery will take a significant amount of self-help and adjusting to the new, post-COVID realities.

I represent an agricultural district, and I'm also a farmer. So I am concerned about persistent press reports about the shortage of containers to carry U.S. agriculture exports to our customers around the world.

Just like the overall economy, different sectors of the transportation economy have been impacted in different ways by the coronavirus.

The pandemic has ravaged our country since the first U.S. case was reported in January 2020.
